Madison Dix did not fight "Jackie Byhr" in Cleveland on April 13, as previously shown here. That entry actually refers to this fight, between Dix and Jackie Brady, which was the main event on the Matt Brock benefit (see The Ring, July 1931, page 53, but Brady is wrongly identified there as "Ralph Brady"). Brock had been wounded several weeks previously in Galion, Ohio, by a stray bullet in a gunfight between police and a fugitive. Unfortunately his benefit was described as "a frost."
