On the paper Abdoul "Siki" Sow of Belgium looked an easy foe for debuting Norwegian lightweight Ivar Ellertsen. Sow,born in Senegal,had a 1-7-1 record, while Ellertsen had been a feared KO-king in the amateur ranks. The Norwegian got more than his share of trouble. Southpaw Sow threw long swings from his tight guard, sometimes hitting with open gloves. Ellertsen had to go down for a rest in the 2nd. In the 3rd he pulled himself together a shook Sow with powerfull rights. Sow was in excellent condition and dominated in the 5th and 6th. Aftenposten felt the draw verdict was a typical home decision.

3000 attended the Njaardhallen.

Sow was back in Oslo exactly 6 years later in a bout with the Finn Erkki Meronen.
