Abe Label was a Jewish boxer of the very early 1900s. He fought from bantamweight to lightweight during his decade-long career.
Apparently inactive in 1907--at least at this point no fights for Label have been found taking place in1907. Label won The Pacific Northwest Lightweight Title in 1910. This had to be one of the highlights, if not the highlight of his fighting career. Not clear at this point if he ever defended the title.
According to Jim Gilmartin's column in the June 29, 1967 edition of the Daily Independent Journal (San Rafael, California) on Newspapers.com, Abe Label, an old-time fighter, was planning to attend his fourth straight reunion of about 75 other former fighters, trainers and managers in Santa Clara, California on the weekend. Label, a retired plumber and bait shop employee, lived with his wife in Forest Knolls, California at the time the column appeared in the paper.
