"Adolph Pruitt, 139 1/2, of Los Angeles knocked out Honolulu's Johnny Santos, 141 3/4, in the 2nd round of their junior welterweight bout Tuesday night. The 1st round was even, but in the second Pruitt felled Santos with a solid right cross to the chin. Santos got up at the count of nine, but Pruitt caught him with another series of blows to the chin and felled him for the 10 count." -Associated Press
