  • Fought for the World Boxing Association International Light Welterweight title.
  • The usually flashy and charismatic Broner fought this bout with a bit less showboating than usual, working for a clear win.
  • First professional bout for the former world lightweight and welterweight champion Adrien Broner at 140 pounds light welterweight division.

  • Both boxers were previously unbeaten fighters. Broner was coming off the loss to Marcos Maidana, Molina coming off a loss to Amir Khan.
  • In a closer fight than the scoring indicated, Broner outworked 'the other' Carlos Molina (not to be confused with the better known noted world light middleweight champion King Carlos Molina). Broner was the aggressor and landed jabs frequently. Molina was 'in the house' though and had the right idea, throwing body shots and attacking Broner's left shoulder, then attempting to come over the top with his right hand, both in the middle of the ring and with Broner on the ropes. Molina also attempted to counter punch Broner and get inside, As Broner had superior reach, Molina had only limited success. (stealing the playbook Marcos Maidana used successfully against Broner in Broner's previous fight).

Purses: Broner $1.25 million, Molina 150k
