Jack Reddick, who had announced his retirement in May of 1926 after a knockout loss to Roy Mitchell, returned to the ring against Al Anderson in Strathmore, Alberta.
Reddick was disqualified in the seventh round of their scheduled ten-rounder after allegedly hitting Anderson on the break.
The fight was "practically in the hands of Anderson", who was driving Reddick to the ropes with lefts to the head and body, while Anderson suffered little from Reddick's blows, though being fouled continually.
In the seventh, Anderson had been forcing the fight when the two clinched against the ropes. The referee was in the act of parting them when Reddick drove a vicious left into Anderson's face while the latter was making a clean break. Anderson dropped to his knees and the referee ordered Reddick to his corner, while Anderson recuperated. Not satisfied with this, Reddick commenced to argue with the referee, who them promptly awarded the fight to Anderson on a foul.
The was little doubt in the minds of the fans which way the fight would go, as Anderson was reportedly proving himself superior to Reddick.
