Snapp began the bout by scoring with left jabs to the face. At the end of the 2nd, Hostak landed a left hook that floored Snapp. Snapp appeared out, but was saved by the bell. In the next two rounds, Hostak swarmed Snapp, looking for the knockout, and in the process was outboxed. Hostak floored Snapp again in the 5th, and then cut him under the left eye in the 6th.

Snapp regained control after that and outboxed Hostak, until he was knocked down again by a left hook at the end of the 8th. After flooring Snapp again to start the 9th, Hostak finished Snapp with a left hook to the body, followed by a right to the jaw.
