Young Maxie Rosenbloom of New York has copied the style of the former champion who bears the same name, and developed into a flashy fighter. He is to tangle with Al Manrico of Houston in a 10-roundcr. The two fought a bout recently at Houston when Promoter Lutz was visiting there. Manrico and Lou Duran Win By Knockouts Rosenbloom And Long Fall Before Pair == Al Manrico and Lou Duran scored knockouts over their opponents last night at 40 & 8 Arena in the two scheduled 10-round bouts. The diminutive Manrico stayed on Maxie Rosenbloom's trail, until early in the third when he uncorked a right uppercut which sent young Maxie to the mat for a count of 10. Maxie was on the retreat throughout the short match, but until his final fall managed to slash across numerous jarring punches. Manrico's crouching style puzzled Rosenbloom, who was caught off guard twice in the second round, going down once before a right overhand for a count of nine and again for three, the bell ending the round. In the third Manrico came out for the finish, bewildered Maxie with his elusive weaving, and finally landed the final punch. – BY HOYT E. HAGER, JR. The Corpus Christi Times.
