"British and Empire bantamweight champion Alan Rudkin Tuesday night boxed to a 10 round decision over Ray Asis of the Philippines at the Royal Albert Hall. There were no knockdowns but the Briton finished with a badly cut left eye, the result of a head collision in the 8th round. Until the clash of heads, Rudkin had won every round except the 5th, which was even. He jabbed with authority and followed up quickly with rights to his opponent's head. Asis seemed in trouble in the 3rd when Rudkin caught him with a left-right combination to the head, but the Filipino was saved from serious damage by the bell." -United Press International
