"Alberto Sandoval, 115 1/2, of Pomona maintained his unbeaten record Thursday night by knocking out Catalino Flores, 118, of Stockton at 1:08 of the 4th round at the Olympic Auditorium. Referee Marty Denkin stopped the scheduled 10-rounder despite the fact that Flores wasn't knocked down in the 4th round. The only knockdown of the fight came in the 3rd round when the 21-year old Sandoval connected with a right hand. Flores took a mandatory eight count. Sandoval raised his record to 23-0 with 14 knockouts." -Long Beach Independent
