- Limon entered the fight as the WBC #1 super featherweight contender.
- Both fighters receive facial damage, Arguello sustains minor damage to the corner of his right eye, with a small welt beneath it while Limon receives damage both above and below his right eye.
- Limon bleeds badly throughout most of the bout.
- Fight fought with 8 ounce, Mexican manufactured Reyes gloves.
- Multiple early clash of heads that Limon ends up on the wrong side of, two of which Limon stops fighting to gesture about (the second time being hit with a hard straight right hand while his hands are down)
