"Super featherweight champion Alexis Arguello of Nicaragua rallied to retain his WBC title Sunday by knocking out Ruben Castillo in 2:03 of the 11th round. Arguello and Castillo traded punches nearly evenly for 10 rounds. After the 9th round, Castillo, of Bakersfield, Calif., was ahead on the cards of all three judges. But in the 10th, Arguello said he felt himself getting stronger while his opponent began to weaken. Arguello took the 10th round. By the start of the 11th it was clear he intended to corner Castillo and finish the fight. Arguello said his championship experience helped him work Castillo into a neutral corner where he pummeled him for 15 seconds with a series of punches to the face and body before the challenger went down." -Associated Press
