Walker ruined the last comeback of Arguello and sent the three time champion into his final retirement with a steady jab and body attack. Arguello was never able to get going in this bout, and appeared to age with each passing round as his younger opponent backed him up and continued to score, winning almost every round. Arguello emerged from this bout okay, but his timing was gone and none of his punches that did land were able to hurt Walker. For the second consecutive bout, Arguello broke fingers, this time two fingers on the left hand. Walker, with pink boxing trunks and slicked back hair, took clear advantage of the situation to score frequent combinations. Arguello's legs appeared to be good, but owing to the situation he just couldn't do that much offensively in this, his final bout, over ten rounds.
