French-Algerian who was also of Hebrew heritage. Reported by La Presse in October of 1922 as “Lightweight Champion” of Morocco. Ros seems to have been the first significant Algerian-Jewish boxer to come to the United States and box. Ros was a contemporary of World Flyweight Champion Young Perez. From The Ring--Dec. 1930--p.64 Ros apparently spoke seven or eight languages fluently and clearly traveled the world during his boxing career. La Presse in late 1922 describes Ros as being Champion of Morocco, but did not say if that was as a lightweight or welterweight.
