Chebah was able to land numerous clean shots as he turned his opponent, although Lopez managed to stay on his feet throughout. Lopez came forward, but had difficulty landing his looping punches. In round 3, Lopez was wobbled by a jab, and wobbled once again by as the round ended by a right hand and a left hook. In round 5, several clean punches caused referee Michael Griffin to take Lopez to see the doctor. Upon an examination of Lopez, the fight was stopped.
