Allin Slate was a Los Angeles radio sports broadcaster and actor from the 1950s through the 1970s. Among other accomplishments, he was the two-time winner of the Associated Press "Golden Mike Award" for excellence in broadcast journalism, honored by the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper for showing fairness and consideration in reporting on the treatment of African American athletes in the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, and the former President of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association.
