- Tabiti, 12-0, outboxed Tapia, 17-0, with occasional body punch combinations to win rounds on points slightly.
- Tabiti shoved Tapia to the canvas in the sixth round, who rolled on the ring floor in a somersault and got right back up.
- Tapia got cut below the left eye from an accidental headbutt in the sixth round, and again under the right eye from another butt late in the bout. No point deductions however. There were frequent punch misses in this bout. Punches which scored overall were rare.
- Tabiti scored a flash knockdown of Tapia after a punch bounced off Tapia's left shoulder, he went down and both gloves touched.
