Dick Gosha 174 lbs lost to Andy Kendall 175 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"Andy Kendall, now fighting out of Las Vegas, made a successful comeback last night by pounding his way to a unanimous decision over Richie Gosha in a 10 rounder in the 'Strip Fight of the Week' at the Hacienda Hotel. Kendall, who had not fought in almost a year since losing to leading light heavyweight contender Eddie Cotton of Seattle, outpunched Gosha in taking the decision. Kendall suffered a cut over his left eye in the 2nd round from a butt and had to ward off Gosha who was concentrating on reopening the eye. But Kendall hung on and landed the harder punches, digging at Gosha's midsection with powerful hooks. Gosha reopened the cut over Kendall's eye in the 8th round, and then staggered Kendall just before the bell with a right cross. Kendall won all the early rounds, tired in the middle rounds and then came back strongly in the 9th and 10th." -Las Vegas Sun

  • Kendall was out of the ring for 19 months after this bout due to being shot in the abdomen during a domestic dispute with his ex-father-in-law.
