    • "Baltimore welterweight Alvin Anderson's local fame following his upset victory over Fausto Rodriguez was short-lived when he was flattened in two heats by islander Angel Espada. Although shaken by a left hook in the 1st round, Alvin held his own because of his height and reach advantage. The 2nd was a different story. Staggered early in the round, Alvin was unable to stave off his foe, who battered him to the canvas on two occasions, forcing the referee to call a halt when Anderson was unable to defend himself.
