Peterson was busy and aggressive behind his jab, and began to get through more often as the fight went on. The southpaw Leon used a lot of movement, tried to jump in with lefts, but could not get through. Leon was down in round 5 from a left to the body and a glancing right to the head. Leon was down later in the round after walking into a counter hook. Leon tried to go out on his shield, but went to another knee after a right uppercut. The fallen fighter got up as the referee reached the count of 10, and the fight was stopped.
