Antonio Cervantes 139 lbs beat Hector Thompson 138 lbs by RTD at 3:00 in round 7 of 15

"WBA junior welterweight champion Antonio 'Kid Pambele' Cervantes of Columbia stopped Australia's Hector Thompson in the 8th round of their title fight Saturday night and retained his crown. It was Pambele's 10th title defense. He was declared the winner by a TKO after the ring doctor suspended the fight as a result of a cut over the challenger's right eye. Pambele, who appeared to have a slight advantage in points over Thompson, hurt his opponent with a right hook in the 7th round. Thompson tried to retaliate, but Pambele was able to dodge most of the challenger's lefts and rights. At the end of the 7th round, Thompson's seconds worked on his cut, but the ring doctor intervened at the start of the 8th and suspended the fight, describing the cut as very deep. It was unclear in what round the challenger got cut, but ringside observers said it may have happened in the 4th round." -Associated Press
