Glen Flanagan 131 lbs lost to Armand Savoie 134 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

“Armand Savoie, the Canadian Lightweight champion gained the decision last night over Glen Flanagan of St. Paul in their hit-and-hold 10-round feature bout at the Forum. Flanagan, a tough, experienced fighter forced Savoie to fight his way and gave as much as he took during the dull scrap. Flanagan appeared content to stay in close and punch to the body, a tactic which Savoie was unable to cope with. Only when Flanagan opened up did Savoie connect with sharp blows and when he did the St. Paul boy was usually a moving target. Savoie’s best rounds were the sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth when he managed to open up Flanagan and connect with solid overhand blows to the head. There were no knockdowns.”
