"In a superb exhibition of strength and stamina Zovek Barajas hammered out a non-stop, 10 round majority decision over Armando Muniz in the main event Thursday night at the Olympic Auditorium. Barajas, behind stiff left jabs and right uppercuts, easily kept the shorter Muniz off-balance throughout the fight. Barajas added to Muniz's troubles by changing styles from conventional to southpaw, while landing telling punches. While neither fighter scored a knockdown, both on several occasions rocked their opposition in a fight that easily ranks as the best of the year. Muniz landed the cleaner shots, but Barajas shook them off like they never landed." -Pasadena Star-News
- Unofficial Star News scorecard - 5-4 Barajas
- Barajas was penalized one point in the early rounds for holding Muniz behind the head.
