Aragon was down for a no-count in the 10th. Bolanos was down in the 11th, for a nine-count. Bolanos was floored once more, and saved by the bell. He was taking a pounding in the 12th, when it was stopped. Aragon led on all three scorecards at the time of the stoppage. Los Angeles Times
- Olympic matchmaker, Babe McCoy, offered lightweight champ Ike Williams a $30,000 guarantee and a 37 1/2% of the total gate for a July 4th defense against Aragon in Wrigley Field. Aragon was also said to be looking at an offer to fight Sandy Saddler in MSG on March 3rd, as well as a bout with state lightweight champ Maxie Docusen. But none of these bouts materialized.
