"In the feature attraction presented by Promoter Mickey Davies, red-hot featherweight Art Hafey, 125, Nova Scotia, was belted around a bit by Filipino Ad Zapanta, 125, Manila, before the Asian import finally succumbed at the bell ending the 3rd heat. Zapanta wasn't the least concerned with Hafey's reputation and stood toe-to-toe with the Canadian through the first two heats. But with three seconds remaining in the 3rd, Ad went down and out in Art's corner from a perfect right-left-right combination.
