Still undefeated after 16 fights, Danish lightweight Borge Krogh took on the veteran featherweight Don Johnson of Los Angeles, now living in Italy with a record of 37-12-3. It was an even fight over 10 rounds. The American signalled his long left hooks which Krogh easily avoided with his guard, countering with straight lefts, left hooks and short rights. Johnson's force was infighting with beautiful hooks and uppercuts to the body. Krogh surprised his fans in the KB- Hall by fighting it out with Johnson at close range, covering himself with much skill. Johnson won the 5th round where he hit Krogh with a hard right swing to the body. Krogh nodded approvingly to his foe. Johnson had sucess with a left hook in the 6th, but the Dane didn't blink. Krogh speeded up the action in the rounds 7,8 and 9 as the 31 year old Johnson began to tire. Krogh drew wild applause when he started to fend off Johnsons blows with his shoulders, hitting back with short crisp lefts and rights. The 10th was very hard with Johnson storming forward, Krogh backing and weaving to the sides countering sucsessfully.

Johnson accepted the defeat. " This was no home win, " he told the press.
