In the only blood-free fight, Mathias Tchikaya suffered a nasty gash over his left eye near the end of the first round of his fight with fellow junior lightweight Baha Laham. It didn’t take long for the blood to cover the entire side of Tchikaya’s face while also staining Laham’s trunks, shoulder and chest, and though the blood was bothering Tchikaya, he continued to put forth his best effort. In the end, Laham won a 39-37, 39, 37, 40-36 decision to improve to 4-0 with one knockout while Tchikaya fell to 0-4-2 with no stoppages.
