Ballard, WA, USA

The Ballard Athletic Club (or Ballard Amateur Athletic Club: B.A.A.C.) was a very early 1900s boxing club, once managed by Dan Salt (per the April 3, 1911 Tacoma Daily News). It was located at 22nd and Market Street. [1] Ballard, a predominantly Scandinavian neighborhood, was incorporated into the City of Seattle in 1907.

The B.A.C. started staging some of its smokers in Sypher's Hall around 1910, and sometimes in its club rooms--which could seat some 800 people. [2]

Future Canadian Lightweight Champion Johnny O'Leary got his start here.
