"Appearing in his first fight since regaining the title from Jimmy McLarnin last May, Barney Ross, world welterweight champion, knocked out Baby Joe Gans, Los Angeles, in the 2nd round of a scheduled 10 round bout here Thursday night. A lightning left to the jaw 10 seconds after the bell opening the 2nd round ended the battle. Downed for a nine count, Gans staggered to his feet but referee Tom Loutitt halted the bout." -United Press
