"Former world welterweight champion Don Jordan went down for a 10-count Friday night from what appeared to be a grazing left hook to the chin by Raymundo (Battling) Torres - but no decision was rendered pending a boxing commission investigation. California State Athletic Commission Secretary Clayton Frye conferred with referee Jimmy Wilson for several moments before announcing that the 1st round knockout would be probed. Jordan was counted out by Wilson at 2:18 of the 1st round amid booing from an estimated 4,000 fans at the Olympic Auditorium." -Pasadena Star-News

• As soon as the fight ended the ringside officials referee Jimmy Wilson and judges Frankie Van and George Latka conferred and admitted that none of them saw any real punch. State Athletic Commission Secretary Clayton Frye then announced that there would be no decision rendered and that all purses were being held up pending an investigation.
• The purses held up were $2,500 and $500 in expense monies for Torres and $1,500 and $500 expense monies for Jordan.
• On October 17th, 1962 the California State Athletic Commission lifted Don Jordan's boxing license permanently claiming that he took a dive in his bout with Battling Torres.
• Torres was absolved of any misconduct and was awarded his full purse. Jordan's however, was forfeited.
• Don Jordan never fought again.
