Bennie Briscoe 159 lbs lost to Ralph Hollett 162 lbs by MD in round 10 of 10

"Ralph Hollett broke a knuckle in the 2nd round of his middleweight fight against Bennie Briscoe of Philadelphia last night but hung on for a victory in the 10-round bout. The Halifax native caught Briscoe with a hard right about halfway through the 2nd round, sending him to the canvas for the mandatory eight-count. It was the only time either fighter was in trouble. Hollett was in control despite the injury. His left jabs kept his 39 year old opponent at bay, but brought mutters from a rowdy crowd of about 3,000 hoping for more excitement at the Halifax Forum. Hollett jabbed continuously with his left and it was not until the last minute of the final round that he was able to land a left-hook, right-cross combination." -Canadian Press
