"Middleweights Bennie Briscoe and Vinnie Curto fought to a 10 round draw before a crowd of 5,000 Monday night at the Spectrum. Briscoe, 32, Philadelphia, started with right and left jabs at Curto of Miami. Curto threw combinations of rights and lefts to the head. In the exchange in the 3rd round, the 19 year old Curto suffered a nose bleed that lasted until the 4th round. In the 5th round he suffered a cut on the left eye brow that bled throughout the fight. However, Curto gamely fought back with right and left exchanges to the head and countered repeatedly to make a real fight of it. Although victory seemed out of reach, Curto, through sheer desperation and courage, came back in the last two rounds to even the fight." -United Press International
