After his boxing career ended in the early 1920s, Benny Cordova worked for the Santa Fe Railway and served as manager for his son Benny Cordova Jr. Another son of his, Raul, had fought professionaly as Young Benny Cordova. Cordova died at the age of 61 after a long illness.

According his page on the Find A Grave website, one Bennie Cordova, Sr. was born in New Mexico during 1894 and died in Bernallillo County, New Mexico during 1956. He is buried in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, which is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
