According to his obituary in the January 9, 1964 edition of the Fresno Bee, Theodore B. "Bennie" Hill, "a professional boxer during the 1920s," was found dead in his bed at his home in Fresno, California on January 8, 1964. Hill had failed to show up for work as a clerk in a liquor store, resulting in his friend coming over to his house to find out what was wrong. An army veteran of World War II and a resident of Fresno for his entire life, Hill was survived by a son, a daughter, a brother and five grandchildren.
