- Date: 2005-10-14
- Location: National Stadium, Dublin, Ireland
- Referee: Paul Thomas
- IBC Super Bantamweight Title (Vacant title)
Notes
- Title had previously been vacated by Victorio Abadia.
- Hughes (stepping in as a replacement for Noel Wilders) boasted a 10-2-1 professional record coming into the bout.
- The Englishman was outclassed from the start, however. Dunne landed punches at will in the first round, although he never threatened a knockout.
- Early in round two Dunne landed a straight right to the face, throught Hughes's guard. Hughes was left defenceless, and after 10 rapid and unanswered shots to the head, the fight was stopped, and Dunne claimed his first world title.
