Billy Conn 163 lbs lost to Solly Krieger 162 lbs by UD in round 12 of 12

Conn was floored for an 8-count in the eighth round. Krieger won decisively. Conn had slipped twice to the canvas in the 8th round, prior to the knockdown. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette did not think the punch from Krieger was that hard. Conn backpedaled continuously in the bout, as Krieger was the aggressor in the match.

"Solly Krieger of Brooklyn last night jolted the impressive middleweight record of Billy Conn by decisively outpointing the Pittsburgh puncher in 12 rounds at Duquesne Garden. Krieger, 162 1/2, was the aggressor throughout the match. He sent Conn into reverse in the early rounds and kept a steady stream of body blows flowing that built up far more points than Conn's flurried punching to the head. Krieger varied his body punching, which did little damage to Conn, with occasional right uppercuts to the jaw. In the 8th, a combination uppercut and slip sent Conn to the canvas for a count of eight, and in the 9th Krieger snapped Billy's head with a blow flush to the chin which shook the Pittsburgher and started the fans howling for a knockout." -United Press
