"Billy Daniels, a rangy New York heavyweight, halted Tony Alongi of Hollywood, Fla., on a TKO at 2:50 of the 5th round of a nationally televised bout Saturday night at Sunnyside Garden, a farm club of Madison Square Garden. Daniels, 186, dropped Alongi, 195, twice in the 5th round of the scheduled 10 rounder. When he shoved Alongi to the canvas for a third time, Referee Arthur Mercante halted the bout." -Associated Press
