  • Judge: 92-100

"Billy 'Dynamite' Douglas, Columbus, continued to shine as one of the best young middleweight stars as he outpointed 'Sweetwater' Willie Warren, Corpus Christi, in the 10 round feature at Cooper Arena. Warren gave Douglas a rugged battle right down the line. Douglas was unable to deck his man, although his right hand staggered Warren in the 8th and 10th frames." -Ring Magazine, July 1970 issue

  • Warren was a late substitute for former welterweight champion Curtis Cokes, who waited until two days before the fight to announce to promoter Howard Ladin that he was retiring. Cokes eventually reconsidered and mounted a comeback in August.
  • Scorecards (all for Douglas) - 100-90, 100-92 and 98-92.
