"Billy Graham moved into the middleweight class last night to show his old boxing mastery while subduing a wild Paddy Young on a unanimous decision. There were no knockdowns in the fight as Graham made his talented left and straight right hand pay off. Many of Young's wild hooks to the body and head were blocked by Graham's arms. Young had seven stitches taken in a cut around his right eye in his dressing room." -Associated Press
- Unofficial AP scorecard - 8-1-1 Graham
- Attendance - 5,281
- Gate - $17,553
- Prior to the bout, NYSAC Chairman Robert Christenberry visited both dressing rooms due to a concern. He also took an added precaution of replacing the three judges for this bout, which was the main event. The reason for all this was due to suspicions involving wildly shifting odds on the bout that ran from even money at the weigh-in to 12-5 for Graham to 'out' before the fight.
