Kehler: The Daily News, New York, NY (7-15-1956) published a profile of Billy Vidabeck which said that his pro debut was in a four round bout in Bayonne, NJ, in 1921; that he won 78 of 90 pro bouts; that he thought that his bouts with Jimmy Francis (#035816) were his toughest; and that his last bout was in August, 1928, after which he retired at age 24 to join the Bayonne, NJ, police department, where he ultimately became police chief. He joined the Bayonne police department on August 7, 1928, retired on August 31, 1970, and used his real surname while a policeman.
