With a 9 round KO over undefeated German champion Werner Mundt, Swedish Bo Hogberg climbed back towards the Europan top after losing his European light middelweight title to Yolande Leveque four months ago. A hard right hit Mundt on the side of his head and a left to the liver dropped the German for a full count. Mundt started coughing violently, clutching his throat. He seemed to struggle with saliva or blood in his throat. It was an uneasy moment for the 11 677 paying spectators at Johanneshov Stadium in Stockholm. The German's distress soon passed. Mundt's trainer Wolfgang Mueller was frank with the press afterwards: Mundt was in pain, he told the reporter from Expressen. " He is blue all over and there's blood in his urine. It's nothing serious, but a slow and long recovery is required. " However Mundt was back in the ring two months later.

Main event was the fight between Sonny Liston and Gerhard Zech.
