"Bob Baker of Pittsburgh, was extended to the limit before scoring a TKO over Billy Gilliam of Orange, NJ, 65 seconds before the end of the 10 round bout at the Providence Auditorium, Monday night. Before landing the solid right that dumped Gilliam, Baker had absorbed some heavy punishment. Gilliam rocked him three times with vicious rights and raised cuts on his right eye which was badly swollen at the finish." -Newport Daily News
