"Big Bob Baker of Pittsburgh won a unanimous 10 round decision over cagey Charley (Doc) Williams of Jacksonville, Fla., in a blood-spattered heavyweight bout. Baker had to come from behind to cop the verdict. The veteran Williams gave Baker a good fight until he tired in the late rounds. There were no knockdowns. Williams bloodied Baker's nose early in the match and the Pittsburgh fighter suffered a cut over the left eye. Williams' left eye was almost closed from the 5th round on." -Associated Press
