"Most of the ringsiders agreed that Agramonte was ahead at the stopping point, but all three officials had Baker winning. It was a bloody affair and the fight was stopped because of a gash below Agramonte's right eye.
"In a hard-slugging battle in which both boxers were bloodied, heavyweight Bob Baker of Pittsburgh Tuesday night TKO'd Omelio Agramonte of Cuba at 2:24 of the 7th round. The Cuban suffered a badly cut left eye and this forced referee Ernie Sesto to stop the fight despite a violent protest from Agramonte. Agramonte drew blood from Baker's nose in the 2nd round and cut his eye in the 5th. The Cuban carried the fight all the way to a man who outweighed him by 34 pounds." -Associated Press
