"Heavyweight Bob Baker entered a tuition bill into his boxing record today that was marked 'paid in full' by Rusty Payne. The former Golden Gloves champ earned the receipt last night with a right cross that followed a stunning left hook and Payne crumbled on the canvas. At 2:44 of the 4th round in the scheduled 10 rounder at The Gardens Baker had racked up his 11th KO in 14 professional fights. As an amateur two years ago, Baker served his apprenticeship as a sparring partner for Payne, then a ranking heavyweight. A crowd of 4,000 saw Baker completely outclass Payne." -United Press
