"Julio Mederos of Havana mounted a telling attack on the stomach of Bob Satterfield last night and scored an upset split decision over the ranking heavyweight in a 10 rounder at the new Frontier Sportsdrome. Satterfield got in some good right hand shots in the early going but lost much of his effectiveness when Mederos began scoring with his body punches in the middle rounds. Mederos opened Satterfield's nose with a series of left jabs and the Chicago fighter bled heavily from the 8th round on. there were no knockdowns." -Associated Press
