"Former featherweight champion Bobby Chacon, 131, Sylmar, Calif., was decked by clean left hooks in the 8th and 10th rounds by David Sotelo, 131, Guadalajara, Mexico, but built an earlier lead that gave him a unanimous decision. Chacon was aided by three breaks. In the 8th round, Sotelo decked him with a left hook. Chacon barely got up but was given time to rest when the referee inspected his badly cut left eye. Sotelo lost his mouthpiece shortly thereafter giving Chacon another break. And in the 10th round after another knockdown, Sotelo's fans rushed into the ring thinking the fight was over. But Chacon won on points. The decision drew roars of disapproval as debris was hurled into the ring." -Associated Press
