"Bobby Chacon of Los Angeles scored his 19th knockout in the 9th round of a scheduled 10 rounder over Jose Luis Martin del Campo of Mexico. Chacon, who stopped del campo in the 3rd round of a controversial bout last February, found a tougher opponent this time until he gunned down his foe 46 seconds into the 9th round. A left and right shook del Campo and in a delayed reaction he plunged backwards into the ropes. He was bleeding from cuts around his left eye and nose and referee Rudy Jordan stopped the fight." -Long Beach Press-Telegram
