"Former WBC featherweight champion Bobby Chacon floored Manuel Martinez three times and scored a TKO with one second to go in their scheduled 10-rounder Tuesday night at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. Chacon, 131, of Los Angeles, did not take charge until the 8th round when he decked Martinez with a right to the jaw. Martinez, also 131, from the Dominican Republic, took a standing eight count. Chacon floored Martinez again early in the 10th round with a left hook to the jaw. Then in a flurry of punches, Martinez slumped to the canvas at 2:59 and referee Vern Bybee stopped the fight without starting a count." -Associated Press
