Robert 'Sailor' Hubon lived on the east coast of the United States until sometime in the early 1920s when he relocated his family to San Diego. He died on 21 Jul 1929; location currently unknown although it was likely on the west coast (in Washington state or California). Apparently he was struck by a car while crossing the street and killed. He is buried in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
